Using private tutors can enhance your likelihood of entering PTNs.

From my experience, private tutoring provides focused guidance unlike studying solo.

It’s not merely about revising content, but mastering techniques for PTN exams.

According to UGM research, guided tutoring helps students understand PTN exam patterns more quickly, particularly in STEM subjects.

Private tutoring offers flexibility: scheduling, extra explanations, and direct practice on challenging questions.

This is far more effective than studying alone at home.

Which PTN Selection Tracks Should Be Prepared?
Students usually need to prepare for three PTN entrance routes.

SNBP (National Selection Based on Achievement) – Considers grades and achievements instead of written assessments.

SNBT (National Selection Based on Test) – UTBK serves as the deciding factor.

Independent Selection – Universities conduct their own independent tests, e.g., SIMAK UI or UM UGM.

Understanding track specifics improves learning efficiency and raises the likelihood of passing (Suryani & Prasetyo, 2021).

How Private Tutors Support SNBP
Academic excellence in report cards is central to SNBP.

Tutors focus on enhancing essential subjects like:

Mathematics – To build logical reasoning and problem-solving ability.

English – To strengthen English proficiency and literacy.

Physics, Chemistry, Biology – To support Saintek scores.

Tutors provide guidance that boosts motivation and academic understanding.

Thus, tutors do not just teach content but also help build a strong academic portfolio.

Tips for Tackling SNBT Through Private Tutoring
UTBK preparation for SNBT involves structured training.

Structured weekly practice with guidance on strategy, elimination, and timing is provided by private tutors.

Studies confirm that tutoring combined with deliberate practice improves UTBK scores considerably.

Specific Preparation for Independent Selection
Each PTN has its own unique independent exam.

Different PTNs test distinct skills: SIMAK UI for math, UM UGM for reading and reasoning.

Private tutors adapt exercises based on the target PTN and major.

Experience shows that students receiving tailored tutoring have 20–25% higher chances of passing than those who study alone.

Essential Subjects for All PTN Tracks
Mathematics & Logic – For UTBK Saintek and Soshum.

Physics, Chemistry, Biology – For Saintek majors.

History, Geography, Economics, Sociology – For Soshum majors.

Indonesian & English – Universally required.

Research from University of Indonesia (Suryani & Prasetyo, 2021) suggests that focusing on critical subjects via private tutoring helps students quickly grasp question patterns and answering strategies.
